Student Highlight: Jeremy Nix

One of the reasons the Communication Program wanted to create a blog was so that we could share with the university community, as well as the online community, just how amazing our Communication students truly are!

Earlier this year in February, one of the Communication faculty (Dorinda Fox) shared some amazing news with me: one of her students in Mass Communication had written a piece that had been picked up by The Huffington Post (YES - that Huffington Post!). At the time, the blog had reached 500,000 recorded views. Today, it stands at well over double that number with nearly 5,000 comments and 1.4 Million Likes on Facebook.

Who is this amazing citizen journalist AND CSU-Global student??
Our very own Jeremy Nix!

Well done, Jeremy! Keep on Writing - we are so very proud of your contributions to the world!

Welcome to the Communication Program Blog!

Hi Communication Majors!

Welcome to the 2016-2017 Academic Year! We are so excited to be working with you as you complete your degree in our program.

This year we have some new initiatives kicking off, and we want to make sure you aware of these, so please keep reading!

New for You!
  • Internal Program Website

  • Communication Blog
    • There is now a Communication Program Blog where we will highlight program endeavors, student and faculty achievements, and other important updates. [Since you are reading this on our blog, make sure you subscribe via email to stay up to date on all of the Program's activities and events!]

In-the-Works:
  • National Communication Honor Society @ CSU-Global
    • At the beginning of June 2016, a survey was sent to all Communication students to solicit interest in forming a national Communication Honor Society - Lambda Eta Pi. The response was thoroughly positive and supportive, so we are moving forward with this initiative. An announcement will be posted to the blog and Communication Program website as to when we will have our first meeting regarding this society.

From all of the faculty members in the Communication Program: We wish you the greatest success as you finish your courses (and/or your degree) this year!
